Afonne Eze Promoted to Lead MJHS Home Care/Home Care Solutions
MJHS Health System is pleased to announce that Afonne Eze, MSN, FNP-c, ACHPN, was chosen earlier this year to lead MJHS Home Care and MJHS Home Care Solutions. She was promoted into her new role of Assistant Vice President of MJHS Home Care, following the planned retirement of Kathleen Dier.
“Afonne has the right blend of leadership and direct patient care experience to lead the teams,” says Terese Acampora, Chief Operating Officer of MJHS Hospice and Home Care. “I’m so proud the right candidate for this important position was already a member of the MJHS family.”
Eze’s career at MJHS began in 2015, when she joined the not-for-profit organization as a Home Care Branch Director, later adding per diem nurse practitioner to her responsibilities. In 2019, she assumed a new role as Nurse Practitioner Manager and Provider with MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care.
“It’s an honor to lead MJHS Home Care and MJHS Home Care Solutions, and to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to our mission, and to providing culturally-sensitive quality care with compassion, dignity and respect,” says Eze.
Eze earned her bachelor’s in biology from Howard University, B.S. and M.S. degrees in nursing from The College of New Rochelle, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Quinnipiac University. She is a member of numerous organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and has earned certifications from the American Heart Association, Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program.
